Catching the wind

Woke this morning with the words from Donovan’s song, Catch the Wind going around in my head.  Pumpkin and I headed off for an early morning walk before breakfast.

The first thing to greet us was a high jet stream splitting the sky in two. It seemed like a gift. A cool, gentle breeze was blowing and all around, flowers, grasses and leaves were dancing. The sun was still low and the shadows were long, turning my friendly canine into a lurching wolf.

We stopped many times to take snaps – sometimes P went off to find the freshest roo poo he could find to roll in (yummy!), but other times he grew impatient with me, and his whinges can be heard in some of the videos.

With Donovan’s classic still inhabiting my brain, I realised the synchronicity of the music and the weather. Nice.

After our walk,  I searched for the song lyrics:

In the chilly hours and minutes
Of uncertainty, I want to be
In the warm hold of your loving mind

To feel you all around me
And to take your hand along the sand
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind

I love how Pumpkin matches the local gravel.
